Cathy McDaniel
Cathy McDaniel holds a Broker's license and has remained active in Georgia real estate since 1993. She received a "Certified Mortgage Specialist" designation through Captstone Institute of Mortgage Finance in 1993 and has provided education for The Georgia Training Center and has served as one of the top educators at the American Real Estate University since 2007. Cathy received the "2008 Educator of the Year" presented by the Georgia Real Educators Association in December 2008. She hosts an average of 30 classes a month at various locations from Florida to Arizona and is committed to offering a broad selection of topics, certificates and designations that address hot and timely topics. As a consumer advocate, Cathy currently serves as the Education and Outreach Director for American Homebuyers Foundation, a non-profit organization, Georgia Association of Realtors® Professional Development Committee, Georgia Homeownership Alliance since 2009, Mortgage Currency Advisory Board and she believes that everyone in the real estate and mortgage industry today must be the “Trusted Advisor” in the community has adopted the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling. She is also a regular contributor to www.CertifiedREO.com and www.RealityMattersToday.com.
Cathy McDaniel is the author of “A Road Map To Saving Your Home” which is available at the National Association of REALTORS's bookshelf.
Over the years, Cathy has been associated with federal, local, state governments, real estate boards and associations, HUD approved non-profit housing counseling agencies, plus top companies in the industry of homeownership such as ERA, Prudential, Century 21, Keller Williams, Countrywide Home Loans, GMAC Mortgage, JPMorgan Chase, Foreclosure.com and numerous other organizations. All material referenced in her books are tailor-made and created from her training and experience as a top producing REALTOR® and Mortgage Planner.
Her experiences as an Endorsed Instructor in 2007 for HUD PEMCO, Ltd., the marketing manager for HUD homes in Georgia, a regular instructor at Georgia MLS and the Georgia Institute of Real Estate and many Boards of REALTOR® Associations have allowed her to meet and train over 40,000 real estate professionals since 2007.
For the past 18 years, she has passed on her secrets and insights, acting as a consumer advocate for all mortgage and real estate professionals. Cathy organized Atlanta’s first Real Estate Industry Day January 6, 2008, which attracted over 800 real estate professionals. During this free event, attendees received presentations from HUD, FHA, Freddie Mac, the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, the Georgia Association of Mortgage Brokers, NeighborWorks America, ERA Sunrise Realty and a number of vendors supporting homeownership. With the goal of making Real Estate Industry Day an annual event, the second annual Industry Day was held September 18, 2009, where a sold-out crowd enjoyed hearing keynote speaker Georgia Attorney General, Thurbert E. Baker, as well as, presenters from FHA, Foreclosure.com, Real Estate Mortgage Network, HUD, Fannie Mae, American Homebuyers Foundation and others.
On a personal note, Cathy resides in Lawrenceville, Georgia with her Labrador, Bella. She has two adult children Jodi and Chris and adores her four grandchildren Dustin, Taylor, Chastity and Alexus. Cathy is an accomplished dancer and instructor. She hold the United Country Western Dance Council "World's 2003 Dance Choreographer" title and was inducted into the National Boppers Hall of Fame in 2003. Cathy services as the Hospitality Ministry Leader at the Tabernacle International Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia and recently organized TIC's "What's Cook Academy" introducing basic culinary skills to young adults.
